  K1, J9: Cerebus: High Society

  Kanadalaisen Dave Simin kunnianhimoinen ja ristiriitainen eepos Cerebus mullisti independent-sarjakuvien kentän. Vuosikymmenien ajan julkaistu suurteos on Suomessa vähän tunnettu, mutta sen vaikutus tuntuu edelleen lukuisien jäljittelijöiden kautta. Puhumme tässä jaksossa Cerebuksen kenties tunnetuimmasta osasta, High Societysta, sekä laajemmin niin vihatun kuin arvostetun Simin elämästä ja urasta.

Pop-muusikko Lana Del Reyn julkisuuskuvaa on pyöritelty monesta eri näkökulmasta, mutta tässä jaksossa keskitymme ennen kaikkea hänen tapaansa hyödyntää nostalgiaa ja saamme samalla tekosyyn puhua nostalgiasta laajemmin.

  Belgialaisen Chantal Akermanin Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1975) valittiin vuonna 2022 Sight & Sound -elokuvalehden äänestyksessä maailman parhaaksi elokuvaksi. Tämä on lähtökohta, kun keskustelemme ohjaajasta, hänen merkityksestään ja teostensa teemoista. Puhumme myös slow cinemasta, listaamisesta ja kaanonien rakentumisesta. Katsoimme valtavan määrän Akermanin elokuvia ja kerromme suosikkimme.

  The Secret of Monkey Island (1990) mullisti seikkailupelien genren. Klassisia point and click -seikkailuja on sittemmin väitetty kuolleeksi videopeligenreksi, enemmän tai vähemmän pätevillä perusteluilla. Pelasimme klassikon ja pohdimme sen lumoa vielä yli 30 vuotta julkaisun jälkeen.
